achieving the dream
Welcome
One Good Day is all about helping children and adults in tough circumstances with the opportunity to take a break, and have at least One Good Day. This time of refreshment with fun and fellowship can often lead to better times ahead and another good day. Our hearts desire is to see peoples hopes and dreams restored and we are here to be a helping hand in that journey. One of our prime activities is our indigenous choir where children of all ages perform in many different locations around Australia singing not only in English but also in Dharug - the native Aboriginal language of the Sydney region. If you would like to know more about what we do, or the many different ways you can support One Good Day, please see our contact us page. We hope you have a good day!

About Us
achieving the dream
© Nulawala Inc 2018
We are a non profit organisation that is the outreach arm of Nulawala Incorporated, and our team of workers are all voluntary. Our prime goal is to take the kids out so they can have at the very least “one good day", with lots of fun and laughter in refreshing locations. We are committed to empowering Indigenous families to implement their desired community goals. This includes strengthening the communities level of activity to reach excellence in health and well being. Our ultimate goal is to have the community reach their own goals rather than have an organisations self developed program pushed on them. We have several facets to our outreach and one special activity has been the formation of the Mt Druitt Indigenous Choir which sang at forty venues in 2012, and to many thousands of people at the Dee Why Carols. We are presently looking at the formation of a One Good Day Resource Centre which we are hoping to see staffed and eventually self sustained by the local community. We already have two different organisations who are donating books to help in the kids education. We are always having extensive communication with the elders and parents of the communities to ensure that they are happy with all our plans and activities.  Our teams view is that we are simply here to lend a helping hand to get the community started on good healthy programs and to be proud to take ownership of the programs in the future.
One Good Day is taking positive action towards disadvantaged Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islanders.

achieving the dream
The Choir has now become very popular and they sang at thirty venues in 2015 - not many choirs have this many opportunities. They perform by invitation at various functions around the city and the country. The local Aboriginal language Darug is being taught to the choir, as well as their English songs, so they can portray the links directly to their culture in performances. Bookings for the choir can be made via our Contact Us page. Also you can see the choir on Facebook - just click this link https://www.facebook.com/mtdruittchoir?ref=ts&fref=ts

We also sell the merchandise at live events like the choir performances.
We have also had great sponsorship from organisations who believe in what we are doing.  For any sponsorship interests please see our Contact Us page so we can send you our Sponsorship Information Kit.
achieving the dream
One activity that One Good Day does to raise financial support for the kids is putting on sausage sizzles at Bunnings. This activity is one great way for the community to see and learn a little bit more about what we do. At the counter where we serve the food and drinks we have on display many photos of the kids at various activities and also have some small indigenous items for sale. Quite often this leads to enquiries from the public and many times people offer a bit of extra money to support our cause. All the money raised goes towards supporting the children in various ways. The following video shows Dave Armstrong and his crew outside Bunnings.
